The Importance of Pampering

With the past few months being filled with PhD applications and interview preparations, I’ve found it particularly difficult to unwind and let go of the stress that had built up during the day, and often found myself carrying the day’s stress into the next day.. and the next (raise your hand if this sound familiar to you).

Whether its taking time to enjoy soothing fragrances, peace and quiet (or Spotify’s unbelievably gorgeous yoga playlist..) or purely the knowledge that you are doing yourself good, having a pampering routine in the evening will benefit your mind, body, and soul in so many ways, making it a great way to banish stress.

For my next post, I thought I would share with you my three absolute favorite finds that make up my pampering routine;  things I immediately reach for when I need to take time out from the outside world, to help me take my mind off of daily stress and reconnect with the moment.

So let’s get to it! 🙂

1.Rituals ‘Ritual of Dao’ scented candle 290g | RRP £21.50

With how often I use this candle, I had to talk about this first. Hooked on the gorgeous fragrance it produces, I often find myself using this candle all around the house, be it whilst I’m reading in the snug, relaxing in the bath, or sitting at my dressing table in the bedroom.

I recently made a post about some of the amazing products from the ‘Ritual of Dao’ range and the candle is my favorite item in their range (it was a tough decision however..). It’s difficult to describe how this smells, but trust me when I say its basically magic in a little glass jar. Whether the candle is lit or not, the most gorgeous fragrance emanates from it (think floral massage oil) creating much-needed spa vibes in any room.

2. Neom Tranquility ‘Perfect Night’s Sleep Bath Foam’ | RRP £22.00

I really cannot get enough of this stuff. You only need to pour a small capful of this into running water before you get the most beautiful soft foam that smells sweetly of lavender and jasmine. I have a big fan of several bath foams/floats/oils, but this one is particularly good for those of us needing to relax and destress. As well as the sweet mild fragrances,  the foam also leaves skin feeling lightly moisturised thanks to the 19 essential oils mixed in.

Though this isn’t going to be a miracle cure for sleepless nights, it does come pretty close to doing what it says on the tin bottle when used after a long day –  enough so for me to be at the ready to pick up another bottle as soon as mine runs out.

3. Huile Prodigieuse® Multi-Purpose Dry Oil | RRP £29.00

Last but not least, I had to include this dry oil on the list because it’s just. so. amazing.

I love the versatility of dry oils with the endless ways in which they can be used (facial oil, body oil, split-ends serum, cuticle oil, massage oil, stretch mark treatment, mixed in with moisturiser, pre-shampoo hair mask, you name it), but not many can team their endless health benefits with a gorgeous scent that doubles as a perfume.

This one does.

It smells beautifully of orange blossom, magnolia, and vanilla and really is all round such a pretty uplifting fragrance, making it not only a joy to wear (for both mind and body), but also a great aromatherapy go-to.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post!
