My June favourites

Scrolling through beauty blogs to find my next staple is one of my favourite things to do. With beautiful pictures and heartfelt detailed commentary, I love the way so many bloggers put so much time into sharing their personal experiences with their makeup, and share it all for the benefit of their readers.

With so many of my favourite products being bought based on the recommendation of the blogging community, I couldn’t wait to get involved!

So let’s get started! 🙂

Clarins HydraQuench Lotion SPF15| £35.00

With sensitive and combination skin, I often find myself going back and forth between skin care products, trying and failing to find one that keeps my skin feeling moisturised without feeling weighed down and greasy.

Until now.
This moisturiser is a win-win for me in so many ways; I’ll tell you my top three reasons why.

  1. It’s great for sensitive and combination skin with minimal ingredients and subtle fragrance, meaning my skin doesn’t feel irritated and I don’t break out.
  2. It has a light and blendable texture that leaves a semi-matte finish, making it a great base for makeup and source of moisture in the hotter months (humidity and sun – do your worst!)
  3. It has SPF. Enough said.

Benefit Watts Up highlighter | £25.50

Alone or over foundation, this highlighter is gorgeous. With a flattering champagne colour and subtle shimmer, this highlighter suits pretty much all skin tones, adding a dewy fresh faced look without looking greasy and like you went to an 80’s disco.

The way I love to use this is by sweeping it over the cheek bones, under the eyebrows, along the bridge of the nose and a small amount on the cupids bow to add a natural lip plumping effect. The product comes with a little applicator sponge, but it’s not needed – the natural warmth of your fingertips blends the highlighter into the skin leaving a natural blended finish.

On my skin, I have found this stuff lasts a good 8 hours, with a noticeable shimmer still apparent after a full day in the office or outside, and works great on a night out too!

Wearing:  Lancome Volume a porter mascara | Clinique cream blush in Amped up Apple | Benefit Watts App highlighter

Lancome Hypnose Volume a porter | £24.50

Mascara is my ultimate makeup bag essential, and I use that as the perfect excuse to hunt around for the best one.

I absolutely love this one for is the silky formula and silicon brush – I love the way the bristles become smaller at the tip of the wand, ensuring that minimal product is applied to the finer lashes at the corner of the eye.

I also love that this mascara doesn’t flake and leave panda eyes, but is still easy to remove at the end of the day.

If you are looking for a mascara that prioritises length but still achieves that fluttery effect without sacrificing a natural look, then this one is perfect, but if you want more dramatic volume, I highly recommend the Lancome Doll Eyes or Max Factor Full Lash Effect mascara.

At RRP £24.50, this mascara sits comfortably at the ‘splurge’ end of my spending spectrum, but in my opinion, it’s a tough one to beat.

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

This book was actually recommended to me by someone in Waterstones, and I am so happy they did.
If you like classic fantasy and are partial to a good fairy tail with a dark edge (think Grimm) then this book is definitely for you.

So there you have it!

I hope you enjoyed reading!
